Trainings
In enhancing human rights in the justice sector, we have had several trainings which have gone a long way in strengthening the performance of stakeholders and we intend to continue.
1. A seminar held in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and Conference of Western Attorneys General (CWAG/AAP on the 18th and 19th July 2019 at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, “on the implementation of Kogi State Office of the Public Defender and Citizens Rights Commission Law, 2018.
2. CWAG/Attorney General Alliance – Africa Webinar on Access to Justice held at Riverton Hotel, Lokoja Kogi State in 2021
3. A workshop in collaboration with Action Aid Themed: Providing Enabling Environment for the Prevention of Violent Extremism and the Role of the Public Defender held on the 17th and 18th Feb 2021.
4. Capacity Building and Strategic Planning for the Office of the Public Defender and Citizens Rights Commission in collaboration with Bawa & co. Development Experts & Corporate Consultants, held a Two day Workshop on the 27th an 28th July 2022.
5. University of Pretoria’s Advanced Human Rights Course on Policing and Vulnerability in Africa for Human Rights, Faculty of law held on the 5th -9th September 2022
6. Alternative Dispute Resolution Dispute Management and Negotiation Skills Course at the
Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies from the 25th -27th October 2022.
7. Kogi State Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law Implementation Study Engagement Exercise with National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons held on the 17th and 18th November 2022 in partnership with Mercy Corps, Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy, and Development(SCDDD) and (Pastoral Resolve) PARE
8. AGA-Africa Training of 200 law officers on Oral Advocacy and Electronic Evidence which took place in December 2022.
9. Capacity building for POCRC on the implementation of Kogl VAPP Law in collaboration with SCDDD, Mercy Corps and Pastoral Resolve (PARE) held on 22nd and 23rd May 2023.
10. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) & Interest based Negotiation & Mediation (18NM) Orientation and Training Workshop by Mercy Corp through CIPP on 19th and 20th June 2023
